A Family's Journey from Early Start to School

A Family’s Journey from Early Start to School is a six part video series created by CalECSE and the California Department of Education, and produced by VMA Communications, to help families prepare for the transition from Early Start services to preschool special education.

Each video in the series introduces us to the story of a family who uses a different native language to tell their story of moving from early intervention into the school system. The series emphasizes partnership—showing how educators, service providers, and families work together to support a child’s growth.

Accessible, heart-felt, and family-centered, A Family’s Journey from Early Start to School serves as a valuable way to begin conversations with families who are navigating this important shift, as well as providing insight for educators and professionals who support early childhood transitions.
